At season's end, downhill series champions will be determined in the following age classifications for each category:
- Pro:
Men -- open, no age breakdown
Women -- open, no age breakdown - Category 1:
Senior Men -- 19 to 29
Junior Men -- 13 to 18
Master Men -- 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50+
Women -- open, no age breakdown - Category 2:
Senior Men -- 19 to 29
Master Men -- 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50+
Senior/Master Women -- 19+
Junior Men -- 13 to 15, 16 to 18
Junior Women -- 13 to 18
Junior Men -- 9 to 12
The Category 3 (Novice) State Champions will be determined by their 1-day results at the Sundance Showdown on August 12th
Point Series Rules
Racer's best 3 out of a possible 4 downhill finishes will be totaled after the final race of the year, the Sundance Showdown race, on August 12 at Sundance Mountain Resort. The Utah Series State Champions will be awarded at that time.
NOTE: Pomerelle is a 2 DH race weekend. Full, separate points will be awarded to the top 10 cat/class finishers each day.
Only racers finishing in the top 10 places of their respective category/class of an event shall receive points.
USA Cycling rules regarding category upgrading will be followed (2023 upgrade rules apply).
At season's end, the racer's total points will be applied to the class/category in which he/she competed in the most. If a racer competed in two categories an equal number of times, his/her points will be applied to the lower category. For example, if two of a racer's top finishes were in Cat 2 and two were in Cat 1, then the racer's total points would be applied toward the Category 2 championship. All points earned, regardless of category, are used in the final total.
To be eligible to medal in the series you must place in at least 3 Downhill races
